ABOUT THE BOOT

Based on the thriving Maximalist footwear trend in the running category, Belleville created the MAXX 8Z ultra-cushioned tactical boot for those requiring a soft and shock absorbing platform. Designed with a unique performance FATT MAXX™ midsole that features higher volume, softer density, and greater rebounding foam than standard tactical boots, the MAXX 8Z allows for the foot to sink deeply into the midsole for greater support, stability, uniformity of stride and overall comfort.

These are the BEST tactical boots I have ever worn. I have nothing bad to say about them. They are super comfortable. And the shock absorption is REAL. These boots are super stealthy. I just got done being on my feet all day for my shift and I got home and didn't even want to take them off until outdoor chores were done. I can say that I will get another pair because I most definitely am impressed.

I bought my first pair of FATT MAX (made in Vietnam) a few years ago when they had the Tactical Research Logo on the tongue. My job requires long hours of standing and those were the most comfortable boots I've ever owned until the inner heel cup wore out. When it came time to replace them it was an easy decision to purchase another pair of the FATT MAX. When I received my New boots (made in China) I noticed the Tactical Research Logo was no longer included and the mid sole felt harder, not cushiony soft like my previous pair. After doing a side by side comparison, It was obvious the compound of the mid sole material on the new version was harder and less cushiony and comfortable. Two of my coworkers have experienced the same poor results. In my opinion, it appears the quality of materials used have been replaced with cost-cutting poor craftsmanship, such a disappointment.

I've had these boots for a few days and I'm really torn on them.
A lot of people have said that these boots are "like walking on pillows" and I can agree with that, for both good and bad reasons.

-The Good is that the cushioning in them is unlike any other footwear I've found. If you have knee pain, these WILL relieve your trouble there. HOWEVER, the problem I've found is that it feels like I'm walking on a reverse wedge. My heel feels lower than the rest of my foot making it feel like I'm going to tip backwards while standing. This brings me to.

-The Bad is that "walking on pillows" may be soft on your feet, but it feels very awkward. Walking patrols requires that I put more effort into each step because the thick midsole makes it difficult to do a full follow-through from a heel strike to pushing off with my toes. If I don't lean forward while walking, I find myself taking baby steps from a shortened stride. This makes it feel like I'm getting nowhere fast and my patrols take longer to finish. I also don't feel like I ever have steady footing in these boots due to the pillowy nature of the soles. These are definitely NOT something I would walk on uneven terrain with, I would not trust them at all to not result in a rolled ankle or worse.
These boots also tend to squeak when walking on linoleum or tile, not quite as bad as a pair of kitchen shoes would, but it's close. That may not matter to most people, but I work midnights in a hospital where neither patients nor tired nurses appreciate the sound of my patrols.

So my final verdict is this:
-If your job requires you to do a lot of STANDING at attention and you want to relieve aching knees and back pain? Buy these boots along with a heel cup to even them out and you'll feel like a million bucks.
-If your job requires you to do a lot of WALKING and patrolling? I can't recommend them at all, unfortunately. You'd do much better to buy a pair of more traditionally designed combat/tactical boots.

These are quite comfortable boots. I can walk on them all day for work. My only issue is that the inner heel falls apart after short time wearing the boot. The fabric tears apart and I have to fix it some how

I have had these boots for over a year and they are excellent! I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for several years and after spending at least $1,000 in work boots, these boots are the only ones that provide the cushion, support and easy transition for take-off from heal to toe that was lacking in every other boot that I have tried. My podiatrist is amazed that I no longer need his services to reduce the swelling in my tendons. If there was one thing I would wish for with this particular boot, it would be a little more aggressive tread. Other than that you will love this boot.

been wearing the 8 inch boot for a week. Very light and confotable. I have plantal fascitis and usually require a special insole. So far not needed.Looks good. CONS doesnt look resoleable and assembled in Vietnam! I would pay a few more for American made!!

I am a security Officer for a medical facility. I work four ten hour shifts and am on my feet most of that time, hard surfaces, tille, cement or thin carpet. I have tried many tactical boots but these are by far the most comfortable right out of the box! I have not been able to find a boot that was good for both standing and walking but these boots come as close as I think I'm going to get and the rocker soul makes walking a breeze. My feet would hurt by the end of each shift and by the fourth day were really barking towards the end of my shift, but my feet in these boots are 90% better at the end of shift no matter what day! As an additional bonus these boots look awesome with my uniform the part that shows in front looks great. I would recommend these boots to anyone that whats an eight in boots that is super comfortable and looks great! Will definately order these boots again!

I have had these boots for a couple of years. Excellent and most comfortable boot I have ever owned. The only thing is I wish the tread life was longer and more aggressive for better traction. Not the best traction in snow.

I'm use to buying cheap boots but I figured I would get some quality boots and I can say after only 24 hrs these are the best, most comfortable boots i have ever had.

Had em for a week, very comfortable. Couldn't say enough good things about these. Thanks
